Out of a Hole...

Just a quick note to thank everyone for their support and kinds words following yesterday's hacking of the blog, and particular thanks to Maxine Clarke for being kind enough to send me a copy of the Nesbo/Harry Hole posting which had been deleted.  Fortunately, we've been able to restore the missing items so, for the moment at least, everything's back to normal.

Thanks also to webmeister John O'Malley for his usual speedy response and assistance.

I am pretty much a technotwit, Michael, so not in a month of Sundays would it occur to me that someone would hack a crime fiction blog. What possible reason...yet they must have had one. I am just glad you are still with us and hope this is the end of it. Creepy stuff.

Thanks, Philip. Yes, it's very odd. I could understand it (just about) if they'd done it for commercial reasons but it just appeared to be pointless mischief-making. As to why they should pick on me - well, your guess is as good as mine. Probably just random, I imagine. Oh, well - the positive side is that all the good wishes and support I've received from the blogging community have helped reinforce my overall faith in human nature!

Good to see you back up and running, Michael. Still having probs with my blog, although it's not been hacked. Google has simply given up recognising my posts and the latest missive from Typepad more or less suggests nothing can be done. While we have the wonders of the internet, it can also have its downsides!

Thanks for the good wishes. Sorry to hear about your problems, which I've been following via Friendfeed. Sometimes it seems that technology creates as many problems as it solves... But hope you manage to get it sorted somehow!
