Website updates

I've just received a first sight of the proposed cover for The Outcast which is due for release by Quercus in November.  A s you can see, it's really rather splendid.

In celebration of the first sighting of the cover, I've now added a new page for The Outcast on the website.  I'll also be adding an exclusive extract very shortly, so keep watching the skies.

Finally, thanks to Maxine of the ever-excellent Petrona blog for her endorsement of the books in this week's Sunday Salon.   All this, and a starred review in Publishers Weekly...

Super cover, I am really looking forward to reading this.
I was lucky enough to be invited to a Quercus event the other week, a reading by Andrea Maria Schenkel and her translator, Anthea Bell, from The Murder Farm. Afterwards, we went for dinner and I sat next to Ron Beard whom I call "the paperback man from Quercus", who is so nice. I was telling him how jolly good your books are. (Which they are.) We had a long chat about covers and their significance, or not, to sales of a book. Unfortunately I drank rather too much excellent wine to remember very much about the conclusions, if any.

Thanks for the mention, by the way, much appreciated.

Thanks, Maxine. I'm really pleased with the cover. I'm never sure how important covers are (I leave that kind of thing to the excellent Mr Beard and his colleagues), but I think Quercus have aimed to make this one a little more immediately striking. Anyway, I'm very pleased with the result. Thanks again for all the kind words and support. (Must get Quercus to pour a little of that wine in my direction...)
